Balloons

Yesterday, we laid Caleb down for a nap after church. We were about to eat lunch when it sounded like he was having a party. Thankfully we went in there and this is what we found...






How he got the balloons in his bed? We have no clue. We are guessing maybe the fan blew the balloons over. So funny!

A year ago....

A year ago today we brought Caleb home from the hospital. I can't believe he is one. I have had such mixed emotions about it. I feel sad that my baby really isn't a baby anymore. Well... not that newborn baby anyway. I feel sad that he doesn't want bottles but sippee cups only. I feel sad that he is practically walking (the most steps he has taken so far is 6, by himself). At the same time I am so happy and grateful that our little miracle is growing up so healthy and strong. We took him to the doctor on Friday and he weighs 19.5 lbs and is 29.5 inches long. He can say, Vroom Vroom, tickle tickle (and yes he tries to tickle you. I am trying to get it on camera but he does it so randomly. On his birthday he had lots of friends come celebrate with him but one friend, Nathan was in his carseat about to leave and Caleb reached in and said "tickle tickle" and was doing a tickling motion to him. It was SOO cute.), and of course he can say mama and dada. He talks a lot but who knows what he is saying. He can sign thank you. Which is so cute too. Anyway, so I am happy that he is so smart and growing so strong but it is weird to think that the moments we had in the last year we really wont ever have again with him. First time crawling, walking, talking, laughing, smiling, nursing etc.

For his birthday, he had lots of family members come. Yaya (matt's mom), Grandmama and Papa (my parents), Grandma Later, Aunt Jenni, Uncle Jarom, Uncle Joshua, Aunt Sariah, and LOTS of friends. We opened presents, ate cake, and then he took a nap. He was REALLY tired. He received so many fun gifts.
