Sledding

We took Caleb sledding for the first time on Christmas day but our video camera died while I was taping it. So, when we went sledding today we made sure we had some battery life. :)

Caleb is so cute all bundled up if I don't say so myself. :) He seemed to be enjoying himself. Here is a video of him:

Being a big boy...

Caleb eating his lima beans, bananas, and bread. All foods he can feed himself. :)

Any ideas of finger foods? Caleb is quite independent and doesn't like us to feed him.





We got Caleb a push toy to help him learn how to walk. It also turns into a little scooter. He prefers the scooter... as you can see from the picture. :)

Swimming in Salt Lake

We went to Salt Lake City for a weekend getaway back in September. Our hotel room was so nice (they upgraded it for us for free). They had a really nice swimming area too. This video is of Caleb swimming with Matt. I thought it was so cute how Caleb would kick those little legs.





A funny story about that trip. (I can't remember if I blogged about it or not, so here it goes).

We arrived in SLC on a Friday evening and after settling in our hotel room we decided we were hungry. Well, I saw a commercial for Olive Garden and it looked amazing so we decided we would go there. We went to the front desk to find out where the Olive Garden was. The front desk gal said, "oh no, you don't want to go to olive garden. You have to go to Cucina Tuscana. It is about the same price as Olive Garden but so much better." We were pretty excited and decided that we would go there instead.

We arrived to this restaurant and we walked in and there were white table clothes and looked pretty formal. We decided to stay anyway, it is like Olive Garden, right? WRONG!

It was the most ridiculous experience. We were the ONLY people in there with a baby. The ONLY people in there with casual clothes on. We were completely out of our element. The waitress would wipe our table for us if there was a crumb on it. She put our napkins in our lap. And the price was DEFINITELY not like Olive Garden. Maybe 3 times as much as Olive Garden. We spent $50 and split a meal. (Embarrassing in itself). On top of all of this I look across the table and Matt has on his "Later Family Reunion" t-shirt. I about DIED laughing. We definitely didn't belong. I can't remember if the food was good or not because I felt so awkward. We laughed at ourselves and decided we would go back for our 2 year anniversary and dress the part. We never did though.

10 months

Caleb is clapping ALL the time. He really started to do it on Sat. (The 22nd).

Caleb has learned how to play catch. We throw a ball in his lap and he picks it up and throws it (in his own little baby way). It is stinking cute. And of course we all clap including Caleb when he does throw it. He is so cute.

His top tooth has cut threw and his other top tooth is working on it. He obviously doesn't feel well because of it. But the light at the end of the tunnel is getting brighter (at least for this tooth). Oh I can't wait until teething is over!!

Caleb is now crawling on his hands and knees and army crawling. If he has somewhere that he wants to get to fast he army crawls. And he sometimes switches between the two as he is going from Point A to Point B. I will get it on video. I will try at least! :)

Caleb's little buddy Nathan turned one on January 19th (Caleb's 10 month mark). Caleb went to his birthday party and had a lot of fun there. There were lots of little kids and toys. It was past Caleb's bedtime but he was having so much fun he was distracted from being tired. We are excited for Caleb's upcoming birthday. I can't believe it is almost here!

The BEST belly laugh ever!

I was working on my computer when Caleb and I started to play this game.

I would hide behind the computer and he would look for me and then I would pop my head out. He thought it was pretty funny. But then he decided it was his turn to hide and pop out.... this is where the video gets REALLY cute. Caleb has the cutest belly laugh. It is so much fun to play games with him. We have a lot of fun together. But who wouldn't with such a cute baby?? :)




P.S. Funny and sweet story about yesterday. Matt and I have a jar of candy that we keep in our kitchen. I was craving some candy and I couldn't find the silly jar ANYWHERE. I called Matt at work and asked him where the jar was. He said, "in my car." I responded frantically with, "WHY is it in your car??" With patience he replied, "for my scouts." I freaked out. "You gave MY candy to your SCOUTS???" Okay so maybe I over reacted, after all they are just 11 year old boys. I can share my candy with children. However, I REALLY wanted some chocolate. So what does my sweet husband do?? He brings home gourmet chocolate for me. :) I love him!

P.P.S. Caleb cut another tooth and is working on another. Any solutions to help ease teething besides drugging the poor baby up?

Christmas 2010

Caleb helped me put up the tree.



Caleb was a lot of fun on Christmas. He love his toys that he received... but loved what they came in more. :)

Christmas Eve, we ate dinner at my parent's house. We had YUMMY DELICIOUS jambalaya. It was the best. Really! We then came to our house and played the Wii, Just Dance 2. Grandma Later watched us all make fools of ourselves. The best was watching my dad and his brother Mike dance. We then had a small gift exchange game and we read the Christmas story and put the nativity scene together. (Tradition). We then watched the movie, "A Christmas Story." We went to bed and Christmas morning, Matt and I opened our gifts to each other and had Caleb open a gift. Then we went back over to my parent's and spent the rest of the day there, opening gifts, eating, and enjoying each other's company. It was really relaxing. I never realized how much work my mom put into Christmas until I ejected myself into the planning and realized, Christmas happens because of moms! They do it so gracefully and peacefully, it was like Christmas was wonderful just because it was wonderful! NOPE! It is wonderful because Moms make it that way.

We had a lot of fun having our first Christmas with Caleb in our first house. It was really special and we are that much more excited for next year because Caleb will be grasping the concept of Santa Claus. We hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! We actually have a few Christmas cards that we still need to send out... we are so bad. So, if you didn't get one, it is probably in an envelope on our dresser. We will send them, even though they are late. :)

Thanksgiving 2010

Caleb had his FIRST plane ride to Texas. We flew on Matt's grandparent's skymiles (THANK YOU) so we didn't have to pay anything. It was such a wonderful trip. Caleb traveled like a champ and was really well behaved in Texas (especially with how often he was being tossed from one person to the next - I think he was loving the attention). I have LOTS of pictures from the trip, which I will have to upload later. But here is a picture of Caleb enjoying his first Thanksgiving meal... CARROTS. YUM! He gobbled them down so fast!

HALLOWEEN

Matt, my parents, Caleb, and I went to Boo at the Zoo. Boo at the Zoo is where the local zoo decorates the whole zoo and you go around and collect candy. Really fun.

Caleb loved all of the lights and looking at the animals. His favorite was the bear. The bear was really active and Caleb was really attentive and excited because of it.
